A Word About The Process
These oil paintings on canvas or wood are always in black and white based on photos agreed upon between myself and the client. The frames are usually white architectural molding and considered part of the painting.
I came up with a technique which involves applying oil paint thickly to a surface with an old style "dip or quill" writing pen and palate knife.
Painting size and thickness varies from project to project.
It usually takes 6 months to complete a work depending on size, drying time can add to this time as well.
I prefer to think of these paintings not so much as "photo" reproductions or imitations but rather as paintings of the photos as objects themselves much like an object in a still life.
